Yeah, no one wants FF7 to actually end with the planet being rewritten or the heroes waking up in the modern setting a la Lightning Returns, they just want to see Ever Crisis do an event with the designs from the April Fools announcement.
Auron was missing in Spira when he went to Zanarkand. But this is exactly why I've been saying Zack died but isn't dead. He's effectively the same as an unsent, he's just in a world dreamed inside the planet instead of a city on the ocean.
All the other people in the other worlds are just as...
Yeah, we've already been spoiled on the reveal in the framing story for Ever Crisis. The planet is dreaming up infinite hypotheticals and watching them play out, but the material world is distinct from all of them.
My best guess is that post LSS, we'll get Cloud explaining how he got from Nibelheim to Midgar, going into a flashback, which leads into a Zack Interlude where he's been explaining the same thing to Aerith.
I wasn't even thinking of Zack leaving the church. I was thinking we'd see like a scene of him hearing Aerith and runs outside briefly, then comes right back to the church in the next interlude where we see him see her (matching up with Tifa finding Cloud in mideel) and their next interlude...
I could easily see their reunion coming pretty quick and then just not doing much of anything with them for awhile, I just thought it might be interesting to parralelize Tifa's search for Cloud and Zack's search for Aerith. It might help drive home the "finally reuniting for real after all this...
On the subject of Zack and Aerith asides, I agree they should be used sparingly, but I doubt we're not getting any.
However, to that end I think it would be quite fun to parrelelize Zack and Tifa's searches and delay him finding Aerith until Tifa finds Cloud in Mideel, and even then we don't...
They are grasping desperate at straws for a way to make Aerith the forever center of attention because no one else deserves it in their eyes. It's like the old birds right activist meme.
"It showed up in the credits" is definitely a reach for "this totally happened" given in Remake there were mutually exclusive segments of Wall Market featured.
All the dates are important, all the girls are Rosa. I could just as easily make an argument that Tifa should be Rosa due to stage...
What's also hard coded is how Cloud responds to everybody on their dates, and THAT is a fuckton more important than who drags him out of bed.
Also the game is specifically structured such that it makes sense no matter which date you get.
And given that Aerith getting a Solo was a last minute...
Mostly I was asking because I wasn't understanding how specifically you saw 'chance' and 'fate' as being signified differently from each other such that something seemed fated versus seeming to happen by chance, but you explaining it as being obvious versus being surprising helped make a lot...
Not even as tropes. People are using these characters as paper dolls they like the appearance of to cast completely different characters onto. Not only is the CA Cloud nothing like narrative Cloud, he's not even the same Cloud moment to moment. He's whatever character is needed to claim victory...
My point is more that it feels like it's a distinction without a difference. You talk about the blessing of fate reuniting CT, but how is it functionally different than them meeting by chance? How is CT's reunion fate, but Aerith's death not also fate and thus the CA separation fate.
I...
It's funny you say that because from the earliest days of Naturo I figured Hinata was endgame and Sakura was a red herring. Likewise Kyo seemed to be the one most framed by the narrative as Tohru's endgame.
Honestly, from this end there doesn't seem to be much difference between circumstance...
