Remake is definitely at least partly a sequel, and I don't think that erases the compilation at all -- if anything it depends on it to an extent.

Part 2 is sounding like it's a 2024 release at the earliest. My prediction that remake will end around 2030 is looking good...

I'm actually quite curious about a time loop direction, I think that is quite feasible judging by the way Aerith in particular acts

Honestly, I'm just confused with the whole thing. The game itself slaps you over the head with 'everything is changing, terrifying freedom, zack is alive somewhere, the unknown journey is coming' and the dev interviews are like 'oh don't worry everything will be the same bro, lol'. Who knows...

The Unknown Journey is going to be interesting...my only question is if Zack will cross over to the main timeline or not, hmm.

Intriguing idea! It's not really the kind of style they go for, though. I'd be astonished if they did that.

The Laguna segments were awesome. As for Zack, he is also superb. A genuine 1st Class SOLDIER, a man who defeated an army by himself, the one who brought down Genesis, the one who saved Cloud. The true hero of the tale.

I understand little of that jenova jargon, but if the point is essentially that Cloud dying doesn't solve the Sephiroth problem of him eternally coming back, then that is fair enough. So what is that weird thing about as long as he's remembered he can return? I'll need to find the quote people...
