1st Tsurugi

Hey everyone and anyone interested!

Well it seems it's possible for the 1st Tsurugi to be made into a fully assembled and disassembled sword(s). I'm really impressed with how it was made, as well the technical aspects of it. This is the first 1st Tsurugi I've seen able to do all this (and stay together) so flawlessly. Although the main blade doesn't open up, it's still a great sword replica, in my opinion.

The guy in the video is also the one who made it; he also posted a link of the work in progress. I was keeping up to date with the progress, and the least I can say is it's amazing! :)

If he can make the core body "split" and separate into a wider blade, that'd be cool.

I'm interested in highly technical weapon props...some others that come to mind are Noctis' weaponry, and the stuff from Guilty Gear and BlazBlue (Fireseal, Thunderseal, Bloodscythe, Dragonslayer, and a few others).

Also...just something related, but...I'm hoping someone can make a successful Gilgamesh...complete with stable "extra prosthetic arms" with legendary FF weapons on them!

Based on the preview image alone, I'd guess it's not built to scale weight-wise, :monster:.

Then again, Cloud could be h4x and use a polystyrene s0rd.

well this dude couldn't wield it, but Cloud certainly could

It's just a prop guys, lol. Being held together just by magnets, it's think it's pretty good. It's also made out of solid wood, so...I don't think it'll fall apart that easy. At least it's not made of cardboard...

---let me just say that stuff falls apart very easily. :desu:

Also, I think he does a good job weilding the sword! :)

I will never understand how that became such a widely used name for that sword.

I kind of figured it was the unofficial name of the the sword, since that name was used by Nomura and company (at least I read that somewhere). What I personally don't like is all the other names for the connecting swords. :nah:

Nomura was just referring to the "first sword," as in the unaugmented one Cloud starts the movie with. For some reason whover translated that interview chose not to translate the tsurugi to sword and everyone took that to be the name. I'm just amaed by the staying power of it...

As far as I'm aware, it wasn't even referred to as tsurugi, but ken but they're both written with the same kanji or whatever.

Yeah, why can't we just call it, "Cloud's AC sword?" :monster:

Silly people always needing names. :P

I'm partial to the fusion swords. Nice and descriptive but sounds less blunt that Cloud's AC sword. If they make a sequel it'll probably be something lame like Neo Buster Sword or something. I admit it is odd that they took the time to name all the remnants' weapons but not Cloud's.

Lol, even better.
