It looks like some special filter has been applied to the photographs to make them appear more flat/cartoony, but damn if it doesn't look great.

I can't stop staring at this one. Clearly the saturation has been jacked up to make the colors pop, but I honestly don't see any evidence of heavy photoshopping. Just good lighting, clever depth of focus, and really pale cosplayersIt looks like some special filter has been applied to the photographs to make them appear more flat/cartoony, but damn if it doesn't look great.

I can never say with 100% confidence, but I have quite a lot of experience tinkering in PS, and I'm usually pretty good at spotting it. I genuinely believe these are just really good cosplays, especially after having looked at a few other photos of the pair.
