AUGH Mother 3 was amazing and made me bawl like a pussy several times. Ugh, I need to cry over Lucas. Again.

I've only gotten as far as the wife dieing. I wanted to cry so hard. :(

Would have gotten farther than that if it were possible to save with an emulated copy. lol

I wouldn't call SE's plot 'straightforward', in my opinion it's just the better story.

I'm afraid I would... I mean it's nto a bad storyline, i'm not saying that. I'm just saying I cna play through MGS3 and understand everything because it's all laid out for me and it's not that hard to think about.
You go to Russia to stop a lunatic and to kill a traitor.
You go through the game and it's revealed there's a giant group behind all this who gav ea lot of money to the lunatic.
Also the traitor wasn't a traitor at all; it just looked that way.

I realize I'm generalizing but still you can get all that from the cutscenes and it's not that hard. Now other details
like Ocelot being The Boss' son
may be lost on some people.

MGS2 left you with all sorts of head-scratchers, though.
Was everything happening in Arsenal Gear VR? I mean how else do you explain the "Fission mailed", Snake saying he's got infinite ammo, how Solidus and the RAYs can appear and disappear, etc..
The final bombshell about the Wiseman's Committee all being dead for about a hundred years was also quite mysterious. Though MGS3 did clear that up.

just realized though that they nominated Subistence, not Snake Eater. That's a whole different ball game.

Subsistence has:

Alex

AKA
Alex, Ashes, Pennywise, Bill Weasley, Jack's Smirking Revenge, Sterling Archer
I'd be interested to see what people here would call the best 10 games of the past decade :monster: Gogogo

Thats exactly what I was doing :monster: Maybe make a separate thread for it?

Alessa Gillespie

AKA
Sansa Stark, Sweet Bro, Feferi, tentacleTherapist, Nin, Aki, Catwoman, Shinjiro Aragaki, Terezi, Princess Bubblegum

Rly? I saved just fine on my VBA when I played it. How odd.

Let's see now.

10) Resident Evil 4

Haven't played it

9) Super Mario Galaxy

Haven't played it

8) Valkyria Chronicles

Haven't played it

7) Diablo II

Repetitive gameplay, too much grind for my tastes

6) Beyond Good & Evil

Haven't played it

5) God of War II

Haven't played it, but GoW 1 was win.

4) Portal

Disagree. It's good in terms of inventing a new type of USP and humor, but it was short and with that, a bit unsatisfying.

3) Mother 3

...I never heard of this.

2) Half-Life II

Disagree, it was fun in itself, but there's just something about it that didn't make me like it as much as the original.

1) Shadow of the Colossus

Disagree. Empty spaces, 99% of the game was completely storyless, etcetera. Points go to music, atmosphere and concept though. But I don't think it's the game of the decade.

PS2 has Separate Ways so it wasn't all bad.
I played it originally on the GC and then on the PS2.

I miss how the GC version didn't have pre-rendered cutscenes. Everythign was just so much more fluidic ya know?

Satsu, BRIAN BLESSED, MIGHTY AND WISE Junpei Iori: Ace Detective, Maccaffrickstonson von Lichtenstafford Frabenschnaben, Polite Krogan, Robert Baratheon
RE4: Fair enough, I'll give it that.

Super Mario Galaxy: Now I know the hype about it, and it may be justified to a lot of people, but honestly it's not a game that really interests me as a platformer for some reason. The fact that they like screwing around with camera angles was pretty cool but I get into some situations where it's hard to see where you're going and what/when you're supposed to be dodging, and the argument that the Wii motion made it better is really hard for me to digest.
Aside from the point-and-gather-stars, I don't feel like the game would be any less worse using a GC controller.

Valkyria: Maybe, haven't played enough to really put a judgement on it

Diablo II: Back in its heyday of the early 2000s? Hell to the yes. Nowadays? I'm not so sure.

Beyond Good and Evil: Eff yeh. I was so pissed when they lied about making a sequel. ;-;

God of War II: It's God of War come on no shit :monster:

Portal: Deserves to be in the top 50, but not the top 10. A tad too insubstantial for my tastes in terms of size to compare to other puzzle-platformer type games, although it was most definitely a fuckton o fun.

Mother 3: No idea about this one

Half-Life 2: I understand the raves about it but I don't really dig it myself.

Shadow of the Colossus: I need to play this game more. :monster:

I honestly thought Gears would find at least a place near the top 50. It has a fanbase which is justifiable. (obv not the actual reason but w/e)
