(Recently I read an article called "The Gamer I Really Am" on Kotaku. It's a really good read, and it made me think a lot about myself, and thought I'd share it).

Read it, and am now feeling rather sad/nostalgic. I used to be the co-pilot for my older brother, and it was an awesome time pointing out that someone needs heals or an item he missed or an enemy that was sneaking up.

I still love a good single player campaign, far more than I enjoy multiplayer, but there's something wonderful about being invested in a story with someone else invested along side you, and it's been a long time since I've had that experience.

I feel the same, but I was in the opposite position. My little brother lives in Seattle now, and he was always my co-pilot. He always had a keen eye for things that I missed, and we always got to talk about games together, because we developed feelings about everything right along with each other. I did get to be his co-pilot in FF IX though, and it was tons of fun. It's an experience that I missed and still do, but until now I didn't know what was different from when I played games before until I read this.
